How to use wiggle wire to fix greenhouse film?Wiggle wire cooperating with lock channel is the most widely‑adopted solution for securing greenhouse covering materials.However,improper operation will lead to film damage,spring wire popping out and poor sealing effect.Correct operation includes preparation,film laying,wire embedding and final inspection,every step matters for long‑term stable performance.

Before starting,check your accessories and working environment.Confirm that lock channel is firmly mounted on the greenhouse frame without groove deformation,burrs or sharp edges.Burrs on channel ends must be polished,otherwise they will scratch the PO film easily.Prepare matched wiggle wire according to channel specification.Standard 2.0‑2.3 mm wiggle wire fits most ordinary lock channels.Wear protective gloves to avoid scratches from spring steel wire.Choose cool windless time for film installation;high‑temperature noon will make plastic film expand,which tends to get over‑stretched or wrinkle after temperature drops.

Next step is laying the greenhouse film.Unfold the PO film evenly over the greenhouse frame,keep proper tension without over‑pulling.Too tight tension will cause film cracking under thermal contraction;too loose will produce large wrinkles and flutter violently in wind.Align the film edge fully into the opening of lock channel.If you need to fix insect net or shade net together with film,place all layers neatly stacked,do not allow material offset or folding inside the channel groove.Uneven stacked layers are the main reason for wiggle wire jumping out.

Then insert wiggle wire into lock channel.Start from one end of the channel.Press the curved spring wiggle wire into the channel opening with palm or special installation tool.Work gradually along the full length of lock channel,press the wire into groove segment by segment.Do not knock hard with hammer,violent impact will deform lock channel groove and weaken clamping force.Make sure the whole wiggle wire sinks completely into the groove,not partially exposed.For long‑distance channels,connect two pieces of wiggle wire with slight overlap,do not leave gaps between wire segments.

After embedding wiggle wire,carry out comprehensive inspection.Run hands along the whole channel,check whether wiggle wire is fully seated,whether film is clamped tightly,and whether there is local tearing risk.At corners and splicing positions,double‑check clamping status,these positions are vulnerable to wind impact.If you find wiggle wire popping out partially,take it out and re‑lay the film edge before pressing in again.

Avoid repeated bending of wiggle wire during operation.Repeated bending will reduce spring elasticity.Once spring performance declines,even well‑installed wire will lose holding‑power.If you operate in strong‑wind zones,adopt thick‑wall lock channel plus heavy‑duty wiggle wire for better anti‑wind performance.Correct using of wiggle wire can greatly extend service life of both film and greenhouse hardware.
